Google will Launch an Operating System

Google OSWhen Microsoft launched its latest search engine Bing last June 2, 2009 many believed this could be the start of another waging war between Google and Microsoft. But Google never rests on their laurels. They dropped another powerful bombshell.

Google announced recently on their blog that they’re releasing an operating system: GOOGLE CHROME OS. while the company already has an existing mobile operating system in Android. This latest will be based off of Chrome Google’s Web Browser.

According to Google, the open source OS will be available later next year and is primarily targeted at notebooks. From the Google Blog: “Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at notebook. Later this year we will open-source its code, and notebooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re ready talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community. We wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.”
Just like the Chrome Browser, it is designed to be a lightweight system. Regrettably, Google did not divulge some important details. It will remain as is for a moment until anyone gets their hands on it. Definitely Google is setting the stage for a major clash with Microsoft. The people of Google’s wanted it head on with Microsoft.

Microsoft is spending millions of dollars trying to break Googles dominance on the search engine market. Google on the other hand will try to do the same with fashion with the windows regulated market. And get a slice of it.
